Vortrag/Presentation: Alternative zu Knästen / Alternative to prisons

The modern concept of justice is not older than couple of hundreds of years. The massive prison complexes used to punish and enslave disobeying parts of the society are now becoming every day routine in most capitalist countries. Privatization of the prison system in some places turn the whole concept of punishment into a profitable business with prisoners nowadays not only sewing clothes for police and militaries, but also work in everyday spheres starting from food production and ending with call centers of companies serving you internet.

In workshop we would like to challenge the whole notion of prisons. What would the world look like without it – full of murderers and rapists? What would be our community alternative to deal with the social conflicts? Is there at all any alternative to the prisons? We believe so and together we hope to open the doors of prisons by imagining today and tomorrow with empty cells.

Das moderne Justizsystem ist nicht älter als ein paar hundert Jahre. Massive Knastkomplexe, benutzt zur Bestrafung und Unterjochung von unbeugsamen Teilen der Gesellschaft, sind Alltag in kapitalistischen Ländern. Die Privatisierung der Knäste ändert das Konzept der Bestrafung in ein profitables Geschäft mit Gefangenen, welche heutzutage nicht nur Kleidung für Polizei und Militär herstellen, sondern auch in alltäglichen Bereichen von Lebensmittelherstellung bis Arbeit im Callcenter deines Internet-Providers.

In diesem Workshop möchten wir uns mit den verschiedenen Begriffen, die Knäste mit sich bringen, kritich auseinander setzen. Wie würde die Welt ohne Knäste aussehen- Wäre sie voll mit Mörder*innen und Vergewaltiger*innen? Was wäre unsere gesellschaftliche Alternative um mit sozialen Konflikten umzugehen? Gibt es überhaupt eine Alternative zu Knästen? Wir denken ja und wir hoffen die Türen der Knäte zu öffnen, indem wir über eine Zukunft mit leeren Zellen nachdenken.

Buchvorstellung: On the way to Magadan

Nach mehr als 5 Jahren gemeinsamer Arbeit an der Übersetzung ist das Buch „Auf dem Weg nach Magadan“ von Ihar Alinevich jetzt auch auf Deutsch verfügbar! In diesem Buch beschreibt der ehemalige anarchistische Gefangene Ihar Alinevich die vom ihm erlittenen Torturen während seiner Gefangennahme im KGB-Gefängnis im Zeitraum von 2010 bis 2011. Als Inhaftierter in einem Spezialgefängnis für politische Gefangene des Staates wurde er einem ganz persönlichen Programm physischer und psychischer Folter unterworfen.

Während seines Gefängnisaufenthaltes trifft er verschiedene Personen: von Politikern, die nach den Präsidentschaftswahlen in Belarus 2010 verhaftet worden waren, bis hin zu Leuten aus dem inneren Kreis der belarussischen Diktatur, die in Ungnade fielen und vom Lukashenko-Regime ebenfalls verfolgt wurden.

Das Buch beschreibt die Realität politischer Arbeit und ihre Risiken im Fall von Aktivist*innen aus Belarus und es beleuchtet die Probleme von Knast und Kapitalismus sowie die möglichen Alternativen dazu.

After more than 5 years of collaborative work on translation finally the book from Ihar Alinevich “On the way to Magadan” is now available in German! In the book former anarchist prisoner from Belarus Ihar Alinevich is describing his hardships during arrest in KGB prison in 2010-2011. Being kept in special prison for political targets of the state he was a subject to personal program of treatment with physical and psychological tortures.

During his stay in the prison he meets different people: starting from politicians from the opposition arrested after the presidential elections in Belarus in 2010, ending up with people from inside of the belarusian dictatorship, who were also repressed by Lukashenko’s regime.

The book describes the reality of political work and risks it applies for the activists in Belarus, and highlights the problems of the prison system and capitalism with describing some alternatives to it.

Vortrag/Diskussion: Gewerkschaft & Knast

Ein Großteil von uns, der GG/BO-Soligruppe Jena, sind Anarchist_innen, die sich dazu entschlossen haben, Teil der Gefangenengewerkschaft zu werden, so mit zahlreichen widerständigen inhaftierten Arbeiter_innen in Kontakt zu treten und ihre Kämpfe zu unterstützen. Wir wollen diskutieren, welche Vor- und Nachteile es hat, auf der einen Seite sich als Anarchist_innen in ein widersprüchliches Organisierungsprojekt wie die GG/BO einzubringen und auf der anderen Seite explizit anarchistische Gruppen wie das ABC aufzubauen. Dabei geht es auch um eine grundsätzliche Kritik der Gefängnisreform-Strömung à la Thomas Galli und Linkspartei.

Lecture/Discussion: Union & Prison

Most of us, from the GG/BO-Soligruppe Jena, are anarchist who decided to take part of thePrison´s Union in order to make contact with the numerous resistive workers in prisionand to suppot their struggle. We would like to discuss about the pros and cons on one hand, of participating, as anarchists, with a conflicting project such as GG/BO and on the other hand, to establish an explicitly anarchist group like the ABC. We will also fundamentally critizise the Prison-Reform-trend à la Thomas Galli and the Left Party .
